I’m afraid this has become the daily-when-I’m-healthy-enough-to-post quote. I hope it will be back to daily soon. Tuesday I used all my available energy to see the D.C. premiere of the new Lyme documentary Under Our Skin. It’s fabulous. I was exhausted and too emotionally wrung out when I got home to be much good. Yesterday was a couch day, due to nausea from a new med. I’ve bravely ventured out to a coffee shop today, hoping said nausea will stay at bay.
A little from Jane in one of her last letters:
“I am gaining strength very fast. I am now out of bed from 9 in the morning to 10 at night-Upon the Sopha t’is true-but I eat my meals with Aunt Cass: in a rational way, & can employ myself, & walk from one room to another.”
letter to her nephew James Edward

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. You’re in my prayers and I know you will get through this!
Sending you smiles and well wishes!
Jane Austen is an inspiration not just for her literary achievments but her spirit too. Makes sense to be following Austen!
Get well soon. I have just found your blog and added to my links. Great idea, looking forward to Jane’s quotations.
I’ve missed your quotes. I hope you feel better soon!
OH, Lori. I hope you are better by now.
I will ask my Book Club to pray for you.

Lori, you are in my thoughts. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this lyme disease. I hope you have a great support system.
By the way, I love the daily quotes. Austen’s works are always so calming. Her works brings a sense of innocence-something our world has loss sight of in this day and time.
I’d be just as happy to see an occasional Austen quote.
I sure hope you feel better soon! Praying for you.
Blessings,
Carla

Lori, I watched the Under Our Skin trailor the other day and was deeply touched by the horrible suffering Lyme’s disease patients endure. I’m so sorry this is your struggle. I know you will pull through a better and stronger person as Jane Austen did through her many illnesses. You have blessed so many people through witty frankness and great wisdom manifested in your book and blog. We’re all praying for you and want you to heal. Remember, “ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Rom. 8:28
I hope you are on the mend, Lori, and getting lots of rest. I can’t imagine how much this chronic disease affects your daily life. Take care, Vic

Lori,
I have been concerned about you and pray that you are feeling better. You are a bright part of my day and I miss your blog! I hope that you are finding your strength and that your faith is stronger for this challenge.
I’ve just read ‘A walk with Jane Austen’ & I couldn’t put it down! What a wonderful Christian perspective on life & love. Thank you Lori!
I think we’re all concerned about you and hope you are doing well. Wishing you health and healing!
Hi Lori,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I live in Fairfax, VA, have read your lovely book, and kept up with the blog, so I consider you a friend. Since I’m so close, if there’s ever a meal you need prepared, or whatever, please let me know.

Lori-
I hope you are better and back to posting and working very soon. Feel better. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope you’re feeling better!
I did want to ask you about a quote I have seen attributed to Jane Austen, but I don’t remember seeing in any of her books:
“What dreadful hot weather we have!
It keeps me in a continual state of inelegance.”
Do you know if this is truly a quote of hers, and if so, what it is quoted from?
Praying for you, Lori.
Lori!
Two months is a long time to be feeling so bad. I pray God gives you a respite soon.
Gave your book to a (single Christian) friend who’s going to Oxford for a semester. The perfect gift.
I wish I could come over and take care of you. Do you have people helping you out? I’ll pray for that, too.
To God be all glory,
Lisa
I keep checking to see if you’ve posted and the long silence is worrying! Hope and pray you’re well again soon.
By the way, went to Bath last weekend. It’s only an hour’s drive from where I live but I’d never got round to going! Weird how that happens. Thought of your book while I was there and wondered how many people I saw might be gathering material for books of there own!
I meant to write ‘their’ of course. It’s embarrassing to read your own typos!:-)
I’m sorry you’re in ill health. I’m giving away a copy of your book on my blog this week!
Lori, I haven’t had a chance to check up on my Jane Austen quote of the day in awhile. I’m distressed to hear that you’re feeling so poorly. Drat that Lyme disease. I will put you in my prayers, dear lady! Praying that you’ll find the blessing through all this.
As with so many others of your loyal readers, I am getting worried by your long absence! Hope you are feeling better soon.
Come back to us!!! Missin’ your bloggin’ and the JA quotes. Seriously, I hope you are on the road to recovery. After reading your fabulous book, I feel as if you are a friend who is sick. Blessings and well wishes.
Lori,
Just noticed that you haven’t posted in an age. Hope that you are doing okay. I’m praying for you.
