Sweet Northanger

I’d love to know what you thought of Northanger Abbey.  I thought it was sweet, and well done.  More here.

I loved Northanger Abbey! It is so true that reading mysteries and romances put you in a mind-set to look for more than what is there.
    I work in a library~I should know!

Honestly, I loved it. It wasn’t perfect, but few adaptations are. The only other version of NA I have seen (and I believe the only other one in existence) is the Peter Firth version, which left MUCH to be desired.
Northanger Abbey was the first Austen novel that I actually read before watching any adaptations of it, and I loved the novel.
I was pleased with the casting of Henry Tilney. Not so pleased with the casting of John Thorpe. When I read the book, I felt that John Thorpe was someone that you might like initially, but soon learn to despise. In the recent adaptation, I despised him immediately, before I could even remember the reasons I had to despise him.
I thought this was a wonderful movie! I have hoped that someday someone would finally create a better version of this wonderful novel than the other one. I think they have finally succeeded!

I love NA. This is my second fave Austen novel. The growing of Catherine as a person is wonderfull. And of course, there is Henry Tilney, that really rocks. I found a hero that could be the best Austen’s hero, but, she gave us Mr. D and no one can take his place. But I love so much NA! I don’t know how there ar so many people that hate it, as I have seen in a forum, but, nothing is perfect.

This is the first adaptation of NA that I’ve ever seen, and I thought it was adorable! Ordinarily, I’m a strictly Captain Wentworth kind of girl, but Henry Tilney is definitely giving him a run for his money!

I have to admit that I have never read any J.Austen book before watching adaptations but the last version of Pride and Prejudice opened my mind and gave me the desire of reading every book and knowing everything about Jane Austen.
I recently watched Nothanger Abbey and started reading the book. I simply loved it ! the 2007 film is really good, i enjoyed it very much. I loved the actor who played Mr Tilney.
