Dear readers -- hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm beginning to feel well enough to enter the world of blogging again (though it has required a strict fish-and-vegetables diet... more on that soon). I'm thrilled to announce...
Featuring pictures of the places Jane lived, loved and wrote about, including Steventon, Chawton, Box Hill, Bath, Lyme, Winchester -- and more!
Also includes dates from Jane's life -- the writing and publishing of each of the books, dancing with Tom Lefroy, the moves to Bath and Chawton ... and much more!

So glad you're back, Lori! My family and I have kept you in our prayers. I can't imagine life with just fish and veggies, but whatever it takes to live it is worth it:). The calendar looks marvelous!

Glad to see that you're back! I've missed reading your Austen quotes. Argh, fish and veggies? You poor thing! Love the calendar too. Guess I'll have to buy one now (: Good news that you're feeling better too. Take care.
Molly (:

Dear Lori - I read about your great book in World. Super article! Would you share about your Lyme experience, doctor, meds, etc.? Our family has the dreaded disease and I just don't know which way to go. Thanks a bunch. Kelly

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she absolutely loved it. The photos are fantastic. Any chance you will be going back?

Thanks all for your many thoughts and prayers! I am (I think...) continuing to make progress toward health. I'm so thankful! Hope to be posting more here soon.
Daddypundit -- so glad she loved it! I would love to go back, but I don't know if it will be this year. Thinking of trying to do another calendar for next year, though... will certainly keep you posted.

Kelly--
I tried to send you an email and it bounced back.
I'm so sorry that your family has Lyme. It's been more difficult than I could have ever imagined.
I've discovered that there's a wonderful network of support groups across the country. Ask your doctor or search online to find one -- it's made the biggest difference to me.
Two books I recommend:
- Dr. Ken Singleton: The Lyme Disease Solution Fantastic!
- Pamela Weintraub: Cure Unknown (The best book out there on the story of Lyme and how we got where we are today.)
And check out the movie Under Our Skin: www.underourskin.com -- VERY worth the $35 purchase price if you don't want to wait until it comes to theatres near you.
I hope all this helps!! I hope to start a blog soon on Lyme and my experiences.

Dear Lori,
I simply love this site!
I'd love to buy your book, but I'm afraid it will be pretty difficult to find it here in Brazil =P
Do you hava any idea of how can I get it?
thanks so much
Mariana

Mariana--
Thanks! I don't think it's available in Brazil, and I'm a bit at a loss... the only thing I know to tell you would be to order it from Amazon and pay the shipping. I'm not sure how much that would be. There are several excerpts at www.followingausten.com. I hope this helps!
best,
Lori

Hi Lori,
In case you're not a Nesting Place reader (nestingplacenc.blogspot.com), the 4/15/09 post shows a great, inexpensive idea: download a free Jane Austen font and print and frame the beginning of Pride and Prejudice.
Blessings. : )

Lori,
I have just finished your book.Wow! I felt like I was right there with you. Thank you for that gift of writing. I have come to a crossroads in my life as well and at 48 wonder what God has in store for me. I am divorced after 18yrs (his decision) but Im sure there is a plan in place for me. I can think of nothing better than a trip to England. You have started a thirst for all things Austen and am currently getting her books. I saw the Jane Austen Book Club. What did you think of that? I truly love Colin Firth but I think because I saw MacFayden first I like him the best with Knightley. I am a hospice nurse and need to save up for it but you have made it seem possible. I too am trying to accept Gods grace and love as you struggled with. I like the quote you put in from Rebecca St. James on your home page. Thank you for allowing us to peek into your private world. With great admiration, Pam

When is Lori going to update the blog again?
Being a middle age man who generally read military history, I am not the typical chit-lit reader.
However I enjoyed "a walk with Jane Austen" so much, I find myself reading it once again.
